I have been texturizing the clay with antique lace and batik chop blocks from Indonesia. I then fire, do detail painting, glaze and fire to maturity. The photo in my profile is a detail of one of my pieces. I think to master the wheel, you have to do it over and over until you figure out the clay, the wheel and your strength. It is not for the faint of heart!
